QA check from back end

To update any Contract which is in Active status, We first take it from "open for update" which brings the status to QA_HOLD.
After the changes when we do "QA Check", Contract goes back to "Active" status.

When we are doing QA Check from back end with the API okc_qa_check_pub.execute_qa_check_list. It is returning Success.
But contract is not coming to "Active" status.
The same contract is coming to "Active" status when QA check is done from form.

Any suggestion on this, how to get it done from back end. By which API ?
