How to stop a Sales Order from processing when price is taken below item cost by modifiers??

We are trying to stop a Sales Order during register when the price is driven below item cost by one or more modifiers. We get the standard note about the price going below item cost or negative, but the order can be processed anyways. What can we do about it??
Any help will be very appreciated.
