32bit database on 64bit windows 7

I'm getting a strange error message when I try to install a client.
"Did not install the database!!!
The database that you are trying to install is 32bit, but you are running on a 64bit version of windows. This configuration is not supported"

The "is not supported" part I think is not true, due to the fact that our deployment is on 64bit windows server.

Any info?
