Mass changes to chartfields for POs - we use commitment control - modifying PO_SCHED_DISTRIB

We have two business area projects that result in the need to update the chartfields on purchase orders. There are at least 2,500 changes, so manually efforts are not really viable. We would like to keep history and make these changes effect on a certain date.

We do use commitment control and have to budget check to have the encumbrances updated.  I have looked for a mass update or automated change order procedure, but didn't find anything.

Anyone have any information they can provide?
