Patch 13399232 Problems

This is our second try to patch BiPublisher Standalone 10.1.3.4.0 up to 10.1.3.4.2 using patch 13399232.
The first time, we had toplink errors and we unable to schedule documents.
This time, the application won't even start.  We're not getting the usual output to our screen upon starting.
We tried Enterprise Mgr, but can't log into it, our password keeps getting rejected.
Any ideas off the top of your head?
