Item placed on PO but not able to receive

I have placed an Item on a standard PO along with other items.  When they tried to receive them all the lines were available to receive except for this one particular item.  The same item was received earlier in the day on a different PO with no issues.   I can not see anything wrong with the PO. What could cause this to happen?
