Application Deployment Error

When I try to deploy my planning app, I receive an error message that it cannot connect to essbase. The full error message is below:

Detail : Deployment update from product:An Exception occurred during Application deployment.: Unable to connect to Hyperion Essbase.
Verify that Hyperion Essbase is running and check your network connections.com.hyperion.planning.HspRuntimeException: Unable to connect to Hyperion Essbase.
