Revenue on Opportunity record not getting updated

Hello,Can you please advise If I am missing something here. After adding the products in the Opportunity product revenue section, I clicked on update opportunity totals but the revenue field on opportunity does not reflect the totals. From my understanding as per the help document on opportunities, when the update total button is clicked it updates the revenue on the main opportunity record. Isn't that true? Please advise.
