Oracle 11g on Solaris 10, old kernel version

When installing Oracle 11gr2 on Solaris 10, the pre-requisite check found the following error.

Kernel of proper version is not found on node "sun2" [Expected = "5.10-2008.10" ; Found = "5.10-2006.06.09.11.00"]

The server has been continuously patched with the latest CPU and recommended patchsets.  Why does the kernel version still matter, and how can I update the kernel version without re-installing Solaris 10?

When I ignored the error and continued with the installation, I ran into 4 make related errors as shown below (1 and 2 seem to be same and 3 and 4 seem to be same.  I am not sure if they were caused by this old kernel version error.  Anyone has any idea?

Howdy, Stranger!
