Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Booting basics - Dual OS

Hi Experts,

Could you please tell me how MBR is working in X86 machines?

If I suppose to have 2 Operating system in single hard disk, for instance "Windows XP" and "Solaris" , How MBR will identify which OS to boot?.

However BIOS will direct the primary boot device is Hard disk only.
