In-Place upgrade Solaris 10 update7 to update10 and patching

Hi there,

i am going to upgrade a server (T5120) to Solaris 10 update 10 whereafter i will perform the patching. Veritas is part of the OS (loaded obviously on top of Solaris) SVM is running on the internal disks.

My Approach is:

1   Move the non-global zone to a new zonepath to internal disk and mirror the slice. The other file systems are still running on veritas.

2 Break the mirror and remove any mirror entries from the /etc/vfstab and etc/system files (both disks)

3 Test the boot to both disks. This will ensure my backout plan.

4 What must i do in terms of Veritas to ensure that veritas does not interfere with the upgrade? Do  i have to deport the disk groups? Then detach? etc etc take out all veritas entries in the /etc/vfstab file? Disable vxconfigd services etc?

Howdy, Stranger!
