GL Posting to end dated account

I have a deprtment segment value end dated as of 10-Feb-2011, however, I noticed that there is a JV having that department that got posted in Jan-12. I checked the record history and it still shows as last modified on 10-Feb-2011. The code combination is not having any end date.

Any ideas??
