Material Aging Workflow

Hi,

I know in R12 we have Material Aging workflow feature, which can search for any date attribute of a lot or serial and initiate the workflow if date attribute is within a user specified range.
Can you please let me know if there is similar thing in R12 to address approvals for Item Obsolescence?
