moving an oracle home

i've created an u01 directory on my internal drive where i've installed the oracle home. we are planning to move to a 7120 san before we go live, and i was curious if i couldmove the /u01 directory that exists to a /u01 directory that will be on the san, without having to uninstall/reinstall  everything. I would probably move the contents of the  /u01 to a /u10 directory and then
remove the existing /u01 before i try to allocate it on the san, and once it's allocated move the /u10 to the newly created /u01
