Program - Export and Purge All GL Interface Data

I would like to hear if anyone uses the concurrent program "Program - Export and Purge All GL Interface Data"  [short name GLPROC]. 

If you run this program, do you only run it at certain times, like right after closing GL periods?

And its description in our R12.0.6 instance (shown below), implies that it is for the P2P module.  But my testing showed that it purges everything, not just P2P-related records in the GL_INTERFACE table.  Would like to know if others acknowledge that.

Description of concurrent program: "Export all data from GL_INTERFACE into a file for the Procure To Pay module. Then, purge GL_INTERFACE."
