webservice calls suffixed with UDAWS

I notice in the web services utilization there are certain calls that are suffixed with UDAWS.  What is the difference forexample: OpportunityUDAWS vs. Opportunity web service name.  Do I need to tell the programmers they should be
using one vs. another?
