Testing with enterprise monitoring system BMC

Hi all. 

I've had ASR running for a while now and working without issues opening SRs with Oracle.  We now want to have the faults get registered with our BMC console.  I configured the snmp trap destination and did the normal cellcli> alter cell validate snmp  The trap was recieved by the BMC Console, but not as they expected.  I had given them the MIB information late last week and the configured it on their end.  Does the validate snmp trap send "real data"  or is there a way to send a test "faulted hardware" type event as validation in the same
