RAC and networks

I didn't know whether to post this question to RAC or networking so my apologies if it is mis-categorized.
We have a RAC 10g installation (3 nodes).

In our system, we have two networks, a public network that connects with the larger organization and internet, and a private network, which is shared only by a handful of machines.  Therefore, should the public network fail, the hosts on the private network can still access each other.

We want to configure the RAC tnsnames.ora, listener.ora, /etc/hosts in such a way that

a) the smaller group of machines connect to the RAC cluster database via the private network.

Howdy, Stranger!
