failed pkgrm for SUNWsamfsr

while trying to upgrade sam-qfs, we did a successful pkgrm of SUNWsamfsu.  when we tried to pkgrm SUNWsamfsr and it would not let us.  it kept saying that it could not unload the samfs module id 233. 

it happened to us on two different systems.  we had to umount -f several filesystems on the first system before we tried the pkgrm.  we had to fuser -uck /fsname; umount /fsname on some of the sam filesystems on the second system.  we did not use the force option.

what can we do to remove this package so we can upgrade?
