AGIS error - Can not generate Intercompany error after upgrading from 12.0.4 to 12.1.3

We just upgraded from 12.0.4 to 12.1.3 and we are now getting errors on some of our AGIS batches.  The error message is "The Intercompany account generated by the Intercompany Balancing Rules is invalid. Intercompany balancing was unable to generate the intercompany account. The Intercompany account generated by the Intercompany Balancing Rules is invalid.".  The batches are between the same Ledgers, Operating Units, and Balancing Segments as before the upgrade.  And we did not have this issue in 12.0.4.  We have made not AGIS configuration changes nor any changes to our flex security.  We are approving our batches via email notifications.  Has any one seen this issue when upgrading from 12.0 to 12.1?
