EM 12c: agent_home vs. agent_instance_home

Greetings,

Just installed em 12c and am confused by conflicting Oracle docs for starting / stopping agent.  Some docs say to run emctl out of AGENT_HOME/bin and others say to run it out of AGENT_INSTANCE_HOME/bin.  Where should I be running it?
