Workflows / Methods deprecated in R 19 ?

Hello,

 Our CRM implementation was launched in R-18. Ever since we went live with R-19, we have been facing performance issues mainly in Contact updates and Call wrap up functionality. I noticed that our implementation partner team had not restricted the workflows to trigger on specific Contact types, which was corrected later. Now, I am wondering if there are any workflow methods that have been deprecated in R-19 which were available in R-18.

 Has anyone faced these issues and found such a list explaining the new methods to be used ?. Oracle support has been researching but, till date has not been able to provide us with a solution to the performance issues lingering in our system.
