Conversion--Depreciate conversion assets in month of conversion using NBV over remaining life

What setup is necessary for Oracle to calculate monthly depreciation as NBV in period of conversion over remaining useful life without using the amortize adjustment flag or the amortization start date field?   For example:  At iimplementation cost is $42,520 and Reserve is $28,642 leaving a NBV of $13,787.  Asset useful life is 12 years with a remaining life of 4 years 1 month and method is STL in legacy system.   The correct depreciation expense is (NBV/remaining life in months)  $283.22, however, Oracle wants to calculate the regular STL of 42520/144 months unless the amortize adjustment flag is checked and amortization start date is the current period.

Problem is we need to use a work around to split assets that are already in the Posted status.  This cannot be done with the correct result if the amortize adjustment flag is checked.

Howdy, Stranger!
