Variable Percentage

Hello,

Has anyone found a way to report a variance (by percent) based off of a specific value?  The scenario is we are reporting the number of actual cases by day and want to compare that against the average number, which is predfined.  We are having no challenges incorporating the average into the report but are having troubles comparing the two against each other.

Reading our CRM Reporting book, it states that percentiles must be done 1-100% but there are times that we may be at 100+% based on our average.  When I compare these two fields against each other the numbers do not match up so I'm not sure if it's something with my expression or that it's because the system wants to stop at 100%.  Really what I want is a variance but I don't seem to be getting that.
