Apache, Mod_PLSQL, APEX, and how to mashup a connection?

I've got my APEX in an 11g database ... I assume. DBA said it "was all there".

I've got an Apache 2.2 webserver.

I've got files leftover from getting a 10g App server up / running (now defunct, but the apache stuff is there) ...

I've looked randomly, and links seem to suggest MOD_PLSQL is not compatible with Apache 2????

HOW, please, in simple terms, to I create a webserver based connection to my database???

I don't mean to be dumb, but this is an alphabet soup of "stuff" ...

If there is another way ... I am all ears, but so far, I feel confused.
