TCP ports

I did setup 2 indentical HEPM server, assuming two standalone machine on the same network. When I issue the "netstat -a" command lot of TCP port had established with each other

e.g. TCP hyperion-ser1:1188              hyperion-ser2:ms-sql-s         ESTABLISHED

       TCP hyperion-ser1:1202             hyperion-ser2:ms-sql-s          ESTABLISHED

       TCP hyperion-ser1:ms-sql-s       hyperion-ser1:1202                ESTABLISHED

       TCP hyperion-ser1:ms-sql-s       mssql-ser:2686                      ESTABLISHED

       UDP hyperion-ser1:2686  *:*

 Can somebody tell me what's happening...
