application connection issue

hello everyone,

I have two servers running on database version 10.2.0.5.

my application connection uses Oracle Client 10.2.0.3

database configuration work fine, user can connect accept some times connection fails no ORA error on alert.log file, no ORA error on Listener.log. application error is java.sql.SQLException

question :

1- should my oracle client be same as my database version?

2- is there any parameter I should check on my database?

any suggestion regarding this issue, my listener service show ready no connection refused.
