Cancelling of a line on a PO that is linked to a Requisition

I wonder if anyone can assit.

When we cancel a line on a OP that has been previously converted from an OR, it opens up the line in the OR and reverses the status from 280 - 999 to 999 - 280.  Is there any way to direct the 'to' status so that is does not pick up the last status but rather a new defined status.
