Exporting 11g database table objects

We have a vendor application which has been using and Oracle database going back from current 11g to 8i. We upgraded last fall from 10g to 11g. We current run nightly exports which we use for various recovery or rebuild situations. Since going to 11g, an upgrade which was performed by the vendor, we are seeing a lot more table objects being exported and I'm not sure what all these tables represent or whether they are are even needed. We are experiencing so period performance issues on this Production database whcih we are not seeing on our Stage system and
