Adding additional CPU

Hi everyone,Oracle 11.2.0.2 on RHEL 5.6 x86-64.

Has anyone tried shutting down a server which runs an Oracle database (with ASM) and add a CPU?
Did the adding of the CPU affect the OS or Oracle in any way (other than the intended use of the additional CPU)?
