JDE E1 Integration with CRM OD Using CastIron vs Business services

We are looking at intergration E1 with CRM OD. The AIA packs available works with Fusion middleware and we did not purchase fusion middleware. We are looking at integrating with cheaper ibm technologies castiron. Has anyone intergrate E1 using castiron - any lessons learned appreciated.
