The answer  I found for  setting up Oracle price breaks for each scenario, = 8 but <24 etc. is to use Pricing Modifiers and Qualifiers and put conditions in Qualifiers for category code  ASSEMBLIES  and category code MISCELANIOUS.  I am still researching how Advance  Pricing can allow the purchase of items with category Miscellaneous once the customer has purchased 8 or more Assemblies and how to configure Oracle to span several lines on a sales order to get the quantity of  >= 8. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated:)
