problem with resizing LUN

edited Mar 5, 2012 12:17AM in Oracle Solaris Volume Manager (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered
We have some SunCluster 3.2 clusters with Solaris10 and SVM.We use ASM for Oracle RAC shared disks and a NETAPP filer for LUNs.

We created a LUN on the NETAPP and added it to the shared metaset on the cluster then created a new metadevice.  We added this into the ASM setup and all was ok until the DBA wanted it larger.
The LUN on the NETAPP was increased from 20 GB to 50 GB but although "sanlun lun show" now shows the new size metastat and ASM only see the old size.

We have tried removing the SVM device with metaclear but although it has been removed from ASM the metaclear command says it is still open and refuses to remove it.

Howdy, Stranger!
