Oracle Assets taking Invalid Balance Segment Value

We are facing a weird issue while defining new Assets not sure if this is pertaining to oracle patch or miss out in our setup. Generally as per the Standard Setup, Oracle Assets will take the balancing segment value from the expense account combination entered in the ‘assignment window’ of the ‘Asset Workbench’, similarly the ‘Natural Account Segment’ from the ‘Asset Categories’ or ‘Book Controls’ based on the account and all other segment values from the Account Generator Default combination in the ‘Book Controls’ form under the ‘Natural Accounts’ tab.
In our case COA has two segments Main Account and Sub Account. The main account is independent segment and sub account is dependent segment of Main Account. While deriving the Code Combination, Main Account derives correctly from the category account; whereas the sub account is not considering the rules and is taking from the 'Account Generator Defaults' field in 'Natural Accounts' tab of 'Book Control' menu.
