Interim Generator

Contrary to the chapter 12 (working with Interims), page 202 of the JDE Payroll 9.0 Implementation Guide, which stipulates, quote: "When you enter timecards using the Time Entry Interim Generator, the system generates interim header records for each timecard", I have tried to enter 3 time cards, 40 hours each, for three different pay periods using different work dates and I end up having only one Interim Header generated for a total of 120 hours, rather than the three Interim headers with 40 hours each.  Would someone have some explanation on how to, if the reference manual is right, or otherwise invalidate that text from the reference manual?  Thank you.
