HFM design paper for redesign the application (Rules, Metadata, etc)

Hi all

we are in the planing process to re-design our current HFM application. Is there any recommendation guideline or white paper on how to setup the new application in the best way (e.g. Dimension custom 1 should include most of the custom dimension members, etc). It is planed to re-design/write Rules, Strucures/WDEFS etc.  

Right now we use HFM 11.1.2.1.
