Testing scripts for tools release update

We are in a process of upgrading our tools release from 8.98.3 to 8.98.4 (8.12) along with MS SQL 2005 to SQL 2008, and will also move our HTML Instances from OAS to WebLogic.

Is there any testing model you would recommend ? Allthough this is major infrastructure changes, the applicatons functionnality itself does not change.

I was not thinkink doing major Integrated testing but at least test the following :

- Media Objects, ActiveX,  BI Publisher, output, specials fonts, email (smtp) functionnality, security

- Entering transactions, 1 or 2 Orders, and complete the cycle up to finance.
