12.1.3 iAssets - What is the "To Organization" field in the header region used for?

We're working on implementing iAssets, and when creating an asset transfer request, I've noticed there's a field in the header region called "To Organization" and it's an LOV. What is this used for? I haven't been able to determine a purpose for this field or ascertain why it shows up there. It doesn't seem to prevent me from doing an asset transfer if I leave it null. Thanks!
