Question regarding securing Oracle eBusiness Suite Database

A customer I am working for has a requirement to lock down privileges within the Oracle eBusiness Suite database.  Currently we do not have individual database ids, and use SYS, SYSTEM, APPS etc to carry out our daily DBA tasks.  Does anyone in this community know of, or use individual database ids, and if they do then what are the pros and cons.  Is there a better way, what other approaches have people taken with regard to individual accountability, such as auditing.  We use individual unix ids to access the servers, then sudo to oracle, with auditing switched on within
