Batch Type ## for prior year adjustments

Question:  Does batch type ## allow a user to enter AND post a prior year JE without changing the GL date, or does it only allow entry of the prior year JE, and the period must be rolled back to post to the prior year? 

Trying to figure out if we have an issue or not.  E1 8.12 if that makes a difference.
