R12 to add a new segment to the Asset Category for existing assets

Dear Colleagues,

 

There is a Warning in the FA User’s Guide: Plan your flexfield carefully. Once you have started entering assets using the flexfield, you cannot change it.

 

However, we need to implement a tax book of assets and we need a new segment for tax specifics.

 

We have 4-segment flexfield of Asset Category now:

 

·         Major group

·         Minor group

·         Asset type

·         Asset status

 

We need to add the fifth segment when minor group is different in the Corporate GAAP book and Tax Book of Azerbaijan.
