Regarding DIAG_ADR_ENABLED_LISTENER parameter

I constantly see the Fatal NI message in the alert log. This used to be in the sqlnet.log file before 11g. I found out that if I set the DIAG_ADR_ENABLED_LISTENER parameter to OFF, the message will be going to sqlnet.log file. But my question is, if I set this parameter to off, will I still be able to use ADR? Will this setting disable the ADR? Please advice. Thank you very much.
