Cascading list and session check-sum security

 Hi,
I have just found that if you have cascading stile list and the parent list has the Security Option "Session State Protection" set to " Checksum Required - " the child list never displays any values, it just sits there displaying the hour glass for ever and a day ?

Is this how it should be ? or am I doing something incorrect or have I misunderstood this security option ?

I have also found this to be true of any item which I try to set its value via "Dynamic Action" ? Once more am i doing something wrong or miss using this protection feature ?
