PAE and SGA_MAX_SIZE can they coexist?
Dear MOS Commuity,
Greetings!
We have a 32 bit machine running 10.2.0.5 enterprise edition of oracle database. We enabled the /pae switch along with the db_block_buffers/use_indirect_buffers to true to let oracle use the chain of memory available outside the 3GB (out of 4gb it can allocate normally with 3gb switch) of physical memory.
One of my collegue wasnt aware of this setting and had set SGA_MAX_SIZE recent for this production database, which wasnt the case earlier. Now I am trying to act proactively to know if this has any negative impact on the /pae switch.I went through MOS, came to know that setting SGA_TARGET and /pae are mutually exclusive.
