report overhead costs in GL

Hi,

Could somebody explain to me how I could track and report overhead costs in General Ledger. As I know there are material trx from INV, WIP trx from WIP and receiving trx from PO that affect the balances of the appropriate CCs that contain overhead cost. Also as I know in GL these CCs are not divided into the various cost elements. I only would like to track the overhead part of these accounting entries. Could somebody explain or send some documentation and/or sample sql queries.
