Sales Contracts - from Quote, can user select Contract Template from an LOV?

Ideally, what we would like to do, is have the Quoting user select the Contract Template (not the template that defines the print formatting but the template that contains the contracts T&Cs), from a list of values (or optimally, have it default in based on the user’s region, because we have different templates for each region based on different local laws as well as customs).  Now if the setting for the Contract Template were a Profile Option, this would be really easy – define a Responsibility for each Region, associate Users and the correct Contract Template to that Responsibility.  But it’s
