Repair scenario involving serial number re-use

Hi,

 

items are serialised at receipt. Serial control setup for orgs is within inventory item

We have a business scenario where faulty items may directly be sent to the manufacturers or received at one of the repair orgs. Lets say the customer has Item 1, Srl 123 which he sends for repair. Business creates a Repair Order for this item 1, srl 123. The device is accessed for a early life failure and sent to the Manufacturer. note the device is not received in the repair centre but oracle has created a record/ or already has a record in MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS for this item, serial combination with status as out of stores
