10.2: using data guard cross plattform

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is possible: can i setup a standby database on linux, when my primary database is on windows using oracle 10.2?

Note ID 1079563.1 seems to indicate that it's not possible, but maybe I just can't use RMAN to duplicate the database and it would be possible to do it differently? Can someone clarify this or explain how I can convert/duplicate the database from windows to linux so it can be used as a standby db?

Edit: Just found note ID 413484.1 which also confirms that a dataguard setup between windows <==> linux using 10.2 is not possible  :-(
