ASMLIB & UEK kernel
I would like to ask you:
1) Which oracleasm RPMs need to be installed in a OEL 5.7 x86_64 installation with UEK kernel for correct ASMLIB functionallity? According to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/linux/asmlib/index-101839.html even in cases where UEK kernel is installed "...The oracleasm-support and oracleasmlib packages still need to be installed from ULN" (as a matter of fact at least oracleasm-support exists in OEL 5.7 media). Some guys from local Oracle office insist that these RPMs are not necessary (actually they told me that oracleasmlib RPM is not even in ULN) but when I don't install oracleasmlib RPM I cannot see ASM candidate disks in OUI of Grid Infrastructure Standalone installation. This doesn't happen when I install oracleasmlib RPM (at least the RHEL equivalent because I don't have a ULN subscription at the moment).
