Functional Consultant Roles when upgrading to new Application.

Hi All,Client requires to upgrade the application from same version but the code combination has been modified from 7 Segments to 9 Segments and One operating unit to 10 operating units.
In this situation how can one functional consultant has to do data mappings and validations in Data Migration from existing to New application?
What are the specific roles and responsibilities of a Functional consultant in this regard?
